When Silent Hill 2 was announced for the PC, I thought, why should I care about a game I'm unable to play its first part?
So, I completely ignore its existence, and all of its sequels, forever...
However now I'm experiencing the opposite, when I learn that "Gears of War 2" and "Fable 2" were not coming for the PC, I realized I was getting 'sequel denied', just how it happened with "Another World". So, just like "Another World", I just ignored the existence of a sequel. Lester Knight Chaykin is still alive in another world trying to find his way home. For me, it seems that Gears of War and Fable ended. No more sequels.
However things are now getting worse, now I'm not only getting 'sequel denied', but also 'ending denied'. Who wants then to play the broken experience of an incomplete game?
Sadly I already bought Prince of Persia, (and Tomb Raider Underworld too). Which makes me realize, that even though I buy some games close to their release date just to support the Industry (paying the full price), because I won't have the time to play them right away, now it seems there is no need to show support for an Industry that is evidently killing itself.
So now, I will have to be more careful and for some companies I will have to wait a couple of years before buying their games. Not only I will be able to buy the game for a third of its original price, also by that time I will know if all expansions are available for the PC, and if not then I should be buying something else. Right know there are hundreds of good old games I should have played, I can perfectly wait a lot of time before buying something new. And I hope all gamers alike regardless of their platform of choice start doing the same, as this problem (platform exclusive downloadable content or DLC) affect us all. This will teach publishers how to treat their customers.
So finally I chose to play Prince of Persia for the next week, finish it, probably watch the ending on Youtube and then get over it. Prince of Persia has ended.
